Former Nintendo CEO sees the future of the gaming industry in the metaverse

Reggie Fils-Aimé, former CEO of the American division of the Japanese gaming company Nintendo, believes that all game studios should focus on metaverses.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance, Reggie Fils-Aimé(Reggie Fils-Aimé) said that gaming companies such as Sony and Nintendo will take the lead in the metaverse race because they have vast experience in the entertainment industry. According to him, both companies have released dozens of exciting games, and if desired, they will be able to successfully introduce them into virtual worlds.

Fils-Aime stated that the main elementsMetaverses, such as persisting game worlds and digital avatars, are also part of the gameplay mechanics in traditional video games. Therefore, according to the former CEO of Nintendo of America, the transition will be subtle for gamers.

According to their forecasts, by this time the metaverse market will reach a capitalization of $13 trillion.

“When I talk about the metaverse, I meanIt seems like an immersive and interactive space – it is dynamic and at the same time can maintain consistency. Imagine walking along the sand inside the game and seeing other people's footprints, seeing how they affected the surrounding space. This is a completely different experience in which players will be able to change the world around them,” says Phil-Aimé.

In his opinion, targeting metaverses should be a priority for all gaming companies, since this is a promising market with huge opportunities.
