#ForkGoogle: Community Launches Action Against Google Pressure on Bitcoin Industry

Due to the increasing blocking of cryptocurrency content on Youtube and the non-transparent policy of GoogleForkLog magazine together with representatives of the bitcoin industry launched the #ForkGoogle information campaign.

It is aimed at supporting the development of alternative distributed technologies based on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency systems.

In addition to calling on Google and YouTube to clarifyThe corporation’s position on content issues and services related to cryptocurrencies, one of the main goals of the action is to attract the attention of the professional community to alternative technologies for distributing content and building media networks.

#ForkGoogle also aims to increase public awareness of Bitcoin and popularize cryptocurrencies.

On Change.org a petition was created demanding the initiation of a public interrogation of Google representatives in the US Senate and the competent authorities of other countries on the actions of the corporation against industry participants.

At the moment, noticeable protests are also being prepared in Kiev, Odessa, Tel Aviv and New York.

As part of the promotion, the ForkLog team will createa special #ForkGoogle section on distributed information distribution systems. In addition, we will allocate quotas for participation in the HUB project for relevant initiatives. We plan to transfer the HUB itself to the state of a partially or fully distributed system.

Recall that in December last year, due to the “moderation error,” YouTube blocked hundreds of cryptocurrency-related videos.

In February, several video bloggers were blocked by YouTube after publishing regular videos about Bitcoin; some received a “strike” during a live broadcast.

In early March, the service sent two warnings about a violation of the rules to the Cryptodealers channel, whose authors talk about the news of the cryptocurrency world.

In addition, applications broadcasting news from the bitcoin and blockchain industry began to disappear from the Google Play app store.
