The Moscow Directorate of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAC) announced in the questioner that it had fined Google in the amount of 200,000 rubles (about $ 2720) for permission to place an adsocial trading platform eToro, which is specialized on the basis of financial services with the use of a cryptocurrency and does not have a license.
The first Russian authorities pointed to "multiple violations of the law on advertising" in eToro's advertising announcements in May of this year.
In fact, the eToro project has stopped providingtrade services on the Russian foreign exchange market in 2017. The company also confirmed that they do not conduct operations in the country and do not mislead investors from advertising campaigns.
The penalty was imposed because Google allowedfor users to launch the appropriate advertising campaign on the Adwords platform. And although the size of the fine for the technological giant is symbolic, it is undeniable that the regulating bodies have monitored their position.
This punishment became the fifth in a row, since before Google had already paid a fine in the amount of 800,000 rubles for violating the advertising law.
