Ethereum Foundation hints at “important announcement”

In the account, the “votes of the Ethereum development team” on Twitter promise an “important announcement” in the coming days.

The post contains a link to the latest Ethereum Foundation blog post that talks about the upcoming Devcon 6 Developer Conference this fall and some details on its agenda.

At the Ethereum Foundation, Devcon 6 participants were assigned five tasks:

  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing;
  • Training, exchange of ideas and generation of new ideas;
  • Bring your vision to the community;
  • Providing conference participants with the opportunity to be the first to test new products developed on the basis of Ethereum;
  • Ethereum ecosystem development.

In addition, the upcoming Devcon 6 should be an important milestone in the implementation of the initiative to increase the number of developers by five times - from the current 200 thousand to a million by the end of the year.

Devcon 6 is also expected to be the first.an event that will take place with the already working phase zero of the Beacon Chain network. The latter should become the main Ethereum blockchain network after the project is migrated to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm. As the developers hope, the transition to Ethereum 2.0 will solve the long-term problems of network scalability.

The venue for Devcon 6 has not yet been approved, but the Ethereum Foundation promises that the event will be broadcast to everyone who will not be able to attend.
