Ethereum Foundation clarifies the date of the merger of the Ethereum

Blockchain funder Ethereum has posted a roadmap for making the latest changes to the blockchain that will enable the network to transition to PoS.

Ethereum Foundation unveils merger timelineEthereum, which will be completed in several stages, starting with the Bellatrix update on September 6, which should be followed by a formal transition of the blockchain to proof of ownership (PoS) somewhere between September 10 and 20.

"The Paris update will be launched from 10 to 20September 2022 with a total terminal complexity (TTD) of 5875000000000000000000000. The exact date the TTD is reached depends on the hash rate of the proof of work. Once the execution level reaches or exceeds TTD, the next block will be created by the Beacon Chain validator. The merge transition is considered complete as soon as Beacon Chain completes this block.

The Ethereum Foundation invited developers to pre-screen and secure their projects:

“Most applications on Ethereum includethemselves much more than smart contracts. Now is the time to make sure your frontend code, tools, deployment pipeline, and other offline components are working as expected. We strongly encourage developers to fully test and deploy Sepolia or Goerli and report any issues with the tools."

The Ethereum Foundation team reminds that after the transition to Proof-of-Stake is completed, mining will no longer function.

Puncture support engineer last weekEthereum from the Ethereum Foundation has announced the expected date for the transition of the network to the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. In July, the Ethereum development team ahead of the launch of the ETH 2.0 update and
transition to the PoS algorithm postponed the launch of the so-called complexity bomb in order to
make sure it works correctly.
