Ethereum 2.0 test network ready to launch

Full launch of ETH 2.0 is scheduled for the end of the second quarter of 2020. The Prysmatic Labs team is one of the core teams working for over two years to implement the update. The team has already launched three projects: Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond.

The Topaz test network is unique and represents the entire configuration of the Ethereum 2.0 phase zero network.

On the previous Sapphire testnetOne tenth of the investments identified for the final launch were used. However, the Topaz testnet will require the minimum deposits of 32 ETH planned for the Ethereum 2.0 network.

Running a test network will allow you to usesharding. The developers are confident that with the right application, sharding will provide a solution to the scalability problem of Ethereum without compromising security and decentralization.

Once ETH 2.0 becomes fully sustainable, ETH 1.0 will be merged into the Ethereum 2.0 network, completing the transition.
