According to coordinator Danny Ryan, the launch of the Ethereum 2.0 public test network could take place within twoweeks. It is reported by TrustNodes.
Ryan hopes that this weekend the specifications needed to run the testnet will be finalized.
“I would not want to launch a more coordinatedtest network until we approve the specifications of version 0.9. We will need two more weeks to do some things related to the testnet and release updates for 0.9 ”- emphasized the coordinator.
Adrian Manning, the developer of the Lighthouse client for Ethereum 2.0, said that he was working on a public test network capable of interacting with the first version of Ethereum.
According to information published by Ryan on GitHub, a deposit contract is currently being standardized that will allow funds to be transferred from the first version of Ethereum to the second.
ForkLog previously reported that Ethereum developers2.0 intend to increase the target shard block size by 8 times. According to Danny Ryan, this will allow to maintain high network bandwidth in the conditions of initially a small number of shards working in the network.
Also earlier, Binance Research researchers came to the conclusion that the launch of Ethereum 2.0 will significantly increase the potential of the staking industry.
