Epic Games won't ban NFT-enabled games from its store

Co-founder and CEOgaming company Epic Games Tim Sweeney said that he will not follow the example of Steam and Mojang, and will not ban games with NFT and blockchain support on his site.

Previously, Minecraft developers reported thatplan to add support for collectible tokens and blockchain to their game. And the largest online store, Steam, banned such games last fall.

One of the users of the social network Twitter invited Epic Games to comment on its attitude towards collectible tokens (NFTs), while asking to “remove such games from the store.”

"Developers should be free to decide howbuild your own games. And you are free to decide whether to play them. I believe that the creators of operating systems and stores should not interfere and impose their views. We definitely won’t do that,” wrote Tim Sweeney.

Note that Epic Games is one of the most influential companies in the gaming industry. She created the Unreal Engine and is behind the popular sandbox game Fortnite.

It was previously reported that Animoca Brands invested $1.5 billion in 340 games with support for cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
