Enjin Launches Ethereum Game Development Platform

Startup Enjin has launched a platform for game development on Ethereum to integrate crypto assets into games andapplications.

The company says the Enjin Platform allowsGame developers can take advantage of decentralized tools to integrate blockchain-based gaming and non-game assets and manage game mechanics.

Enjin Platform— this is a set of tools andservices on a web interface that supports the Ethereum token standard ERC-1155. Developers can integrate both non-collectible and collectible tokens (NFTs) into a single smart contract. The platform uses its own Enjin (ENJ) token, which is used to support the value of gaming assets.

More than 2,500 projects using ERC-1155 have alreadywere created in a test version of the Enjin platform. The company says its plan for the second quarter of 2020 includes the public release of a blockchain decentralized application development kit (SDK) for Godot — its open source game engine.

In December, Microsoft cloud platformAzure has introduced collectible tokens (NFTs) that will reward users based on their contributions to the community. Then the company announced that the tokens were created on the Ethereum blockchain with the participation of the startup Enjin, which is developing tools for introducing blockchain into the gaming sector.

Game tokens are increasingly useddevelopers and have already attracted the attention of regulators. Let's remember that last week the US Internal Revenue Service excluded game tokens from the definition of virtual currency; they are now not subject to declaration in tax reporting.
