Engineers have developed a model of a three-wing aircraft that consumes 70% less fuel

SE Aeronautics presented the conceptan extraordinary three-wing aircraft that is capable of carrying 264 passengers while consuming 70% less fuel than other airliners of similar size.

Decades of designaircraft with a wide fuselage remained unchanged. However, the industry's drive to reduce emissions is forcing engineers to seek ingenious ways to improve efficiency.

SE Aeronautics' new prototype, called SE200, has three wings, a dual tailfin and a pair of rearengine.According to the designer, it can reach a speed of 1100 km / h and fly almost 16.9 thousand km, which is better than other aircraft of the same class. The proposed design increases lift, shortens takeoff and landing, increasing efficiency

SE200 fenders are thinner andaerodynamic design, since they will not store fuel. For this purpose, a balloon is provided at the top of the fuselage. For increased strength, it will have a one-piece composite fuselage with a 50-year service life.

Aerion also recently announced plans to produce a commercial supersonic aircraft that can reach speeds of 4800 km / h.
