Cybersecurity company Emsisoft has released a free encryption recovery tool the result of the attack of the Bitcoin ransomware virus WannaCryFake files.

The new iteration of the WannaCry virus, known since 2017, uses the AES-256 algorithm for encryption. For the decoder, they require a ransom in bitcoins.

For communication, attackers offer the ProtonMail email client or Telegram messenger. They warn that the ransom price depends on how quickly the victim contacts them.
