Last week, cryptoBitMEX has announced a partnership with tech company Astrobotic Technology, which plans to send its first commercial spacecraft to the moon in late 2021.
As part of the partnership, BitMEX will deliver a unique physical bitcoin to the lunar surface. Recalling Elon Musk's idea, BitMEX representatives wrote:
We have nothing against dog coins, but we feel that it would be right for Bitcoin to arrive first on the moon.
Elon Musk has already reacted to this news on his Twitter with the words: “The new space race has begun!”.
