Dubai police to launch new NFT collection

Dubai Police received thousands of positive reviews for its first collection of non-fungible tokens and announced plans to launch a second.

The interest shown by the public inThe first collection was considered huge: almost 23 million people were interested in the project, and the police received 7,000 messages from those wishing to purchase NFTs. The second collection will be presented at the annual information technology exhibition GITEX in October this year, said Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, director of the General Directorate of Artificial Intelligence of the Dubai Police:

“All participants were contacted forconfirmation of digital wallet addresses, and those who fulfilled the requirements were shortlisted for a lottery draw, of which 150 people won and received Dubai Police digital assets for free.”

The director suggested that, as with the first NFT collection, people outside the country will also have the opportunity to own the new collection of Dubai Police tokens without paying anything.

With the release of its first collection, Dubai Police reportedly became the first government organization in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one of the first in the world to mint NFTs.

Earlier, Dubai authorities announced their intention to enterin the top 10 countries with a developed metaverse industry. The strategy advances Dubai's ambition to support more than 40,000 virtual workplaces by 2030.
