Data of 129 million Russian car owners put up for sale for bitcoins

Unknown hackers published a database of Russian car owners on one of the darknet forums. Herauthenticity has already been confirmed by an employee of a car-sharing company.

According to Vedomosti, the database includes 129 million leads from the traffic police register, containing anonymized information about the place of registration of the car, its make and model, date of initial and last registration.

The full version of the database costs 0.3 BTC (about $ 2,800) and, according to sellers, contains the name, address, date of birth, passport number and contact information of car owners.

For the transfer of the base for exclusive use, hackers ask for 1.5 BTC (about $ 14 thousand).

According to the publication, the published database contains information on the initial registration of cars since the 1990s.

Recall, at the end of April, a Bitcoin exchange partnerKraken Etana Custody leaked user data. Hackers allegedly gained access to customer names, email and physical addresses, as well as phone numbers of an unnamed number of site customers.
