Cryptocurrency regulation in Russia postponed indefinitely

Anatoly Aksakov said that the government meeting on the regulation of cryptocurrencies has been postponed indefinitely.

Head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Markettold TASS that the meeting was postponed due to incompatible schedules of the participants, and for the same reason a new date has not yet been agreed upon. Adding that although there are irreconcilable differences between the members of the working group, they were not the reason for the cancellation of the meeting, which is being held to resolve them.

According to him, some government officials do not agree with the toughthe position of the Central Bank, which slows down the regulatory process.

At the same time, Aksakov himself is on the side of the Central Bank. He supports the preliminary study of regulatory mechanisms and the accumulation of experience, after which it will be easier to decide on the transition to open platforms.

The head of the Financial Market Committee also noted that in this matter it will be necessary to take into account the proposal of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Recall that the adoption by the State Duma of the draft law on CFA was postponed until the fall due to the requirements of the FATF.
