Crypto Fund Research: About 70 Cryptocurrency Hedge Funds Closed This Year

According to Crypto Fund Research, since the beginning of 2019, about 70 cryptocurrency hedge funds have been closed, whichmainly serve institutionalinvestors. The number of new hedge funds launched in the same year is approximately two times lower than in 2018. Note that North America topped the list with 28 bankrupt funds, followed by Europe – 23 funds, Asia-Pacific – 14 funds.

The inherent volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies keeps institutional investors at bay.

The market is definitely retail oriented and will remain so for the foreseeable future, – is written in the report.

There are currently 804 cryptocurrenciesfund, of which 355 – hedge funds and 425 – venture funds. The top five include  Arrington XRP, BlockTower Capital, Brian Kelly Capital Management, Digital Currency Group and Fenbushi Capital.
