The accused hired a “liquidator” on a special website of the TOR network. He paid about $ 12,000 in BTC to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Europol conducted a complex cryptanalysis, thanks to which it was possible to track and identify the provider from whom the cryptocurrency specified in the case was purchased.
The police contacted the provider, who in turn provided the necessary information about the suspect. Thanks to a prompt investigation, the police managed to avoid the murder of the woman.
