Europol, together with Italian police, arrested an Italian suspected of hiring a hitman on the dark web.

The accused hired a “liquidator” on a special website of the TOR network. He paid about $ 12,000 in BTC to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Europol carried out a sophisticated crypto analysis, thanks to which it was possible to track and identify the provider from whom the cryptocurrency indicated in the case was purchased.

The police contacted the provider, who in turn provided the necessary information about the suspect. Thanks to a prompt investigation, the police managed to avoid the murder of the woman.
