Craig Wright Demands To Remove Bitcoin Whitepaper From Public Access

Self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto sent legal subpoenas to two websites demanding removalBitcoin whitepaper.

This week's Bitcoincore websites.org and Bitcoin.org received letters claiming that they were illegally using Bitcoin code, which legally belongs to Craig Wright. In addition, they say that Wright also owns the rights to the names “Bitcoin” and “Bitcoin Core”.

This is not the first time Wright has made such statements. In 2019, he tried several times to register the copyright of the whitepaper and accused most leaders of the crypto industry of fraud.

Bitcoin.org refused to remove the whitepaper, and Bitcoincore.org succumbed to pressure from Wright's lawyers.

Bitcoin.org owner Cobra wrote:

Unfortunately, in response to Wright's claims, the Bitcoin Core developers removed the Bitcoin whitepaper from the site. The Bitcoin Core project has surrendered to the enemies of decentralization and jeopardized the integrity of Bitcoin.

He added:

Other sites that host the document should not succumb to pressure and comply with the demands of the scammers.

In 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto sent a bitcoin whitepaper to people interested in cryptography using a mailing list.
