Copy-paste | Anatoly Aksakov compared cryptocurrencies with financial pyramids

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Chairman of the Council of the Banking Association "Russia"Anatoly Aksakov, under whose leadership the deputies take legislative initiatives to regulate digital assets in Russia, compared cryptocurrencies with a financial pyramid.

Devoted to the preparation of legislativeregulation for several years, the deputy explains his opinion with two arguments: “large fluctuations: the price of cryptocurrency jumps by 20-30% in one direction and the other” and “there is no security for these digital currencies.”

In this regard, Anatoly Aksakov considers it necessary to regulate the market by identifying the owners of cryptocurrencies. Next, they need to be protected, taxed, and given certain rights.

Aksakov believes that citizens shoulddeclare their cryptocurrencies so that they cannot use it to finance terrorism, drug trafficking and the purchase of weapons. The deputy has not yet expressed the idea of transferring private keys to the competent authorities, perhaps because of ignorance of their existence.

Now the definition of cryptocurrency is legally fixed and the obligations of owners of digital currency to pay taxes are described. However, no law has been passed on the taxation of cryptocurrencies, Aksakov noted.

Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, came up with the idea of identifying the owners of cryptocurrencies.
