Coinify exchange received permission to operate in Italy

Danish trading platform Coinify has received approval from the Italian Organization of Stock Agents and Brokers (OAM) for the provision of cryptocurrency services in the country.

Now the digital asset brokerage, which is already licensed to operate in more than 180 countries and regions, will offer its cryptocurrency payment processing services in Italy.

Last August, crypto lender VoyagerDigital acquired Coinify for $15 million and a stake in its shares. Voyager filed for bankruptcy in July this year, but the company recently announced it was preparing a plan to restructure and resume cash withdrawals from the platform.

Note that Italy has significantly increasedlist of crypto companies licensed to operate in the country - just last month Crypto.com, BitGo and Bitstamp registered with OAM. Previously, the exchanges Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitpanda and the brokerage company Trade Republic received permission to operate in the country.
