Coinhako Exchange reported an attack and suspended the withdrawal of crypto assets

Singaporean cryptocurrency exchange Coinhako has temporarily blocked users from sending cryptocurrency afterdetection of «transaction anomalies». Withdrawal restrictions did not affect fiat transactions.

The exchange reported that unauthorized outgoingThe transactions were the result of a &#171;elaborate attack&#187; that affected fewer than 20 accounts. The incident occurred on February 21; Coinhako did not disclose any details.

&#171;We have detected a well-thought out and coordinated attack on certain Coinhako accounts and have disabled the sending function as a preventative measure&#187;.— said a representative of the exchange on the Telegram channel.

Coinhako CEO Yusho Lee said that the transfercryptocurrencies were limited as a &#171;key measure to prevent unauthorized outflow&#187;. Affected users have already received compensation, he emphasized.

At the same time, a representative of the exchange assured that the attack was not hacked and the private keys of the clients were not compromised. However, the platform reset passwords and two-factor authentication for all users.

Trading, deposits in cryptocurrency and all operations in fiat money are available.

Coinhako plans to fully resume work on March 1.
