CME will launch Bitcoin options in January

The derivatives exchange CME Group plans to launch options on its bitcoin futures on January 13, 2020.

Previously, the Chicago platform has already said that the basis for each contract will be futures for 5 MTC, which will be quoted at the current bitcoin exchange rate in dollars with a tick size of $ 25.

According to the management of the exchange, since its launchcryptocurrency futures, there is an increase in client interest in options as an additional tool for hedging and speculation. Therefore, two years later, CME decided to increase market liquidity and flexibilityrisk management.

The exchange reports that in the current year, on average, traders daily concluded more than 6.5 thousand new contracts for 5 MTC each.
