Citigroup discusses bitcoin futures trading with regulators

Citigroup is in charge of preparatory work required to start trading in CME bitcoin futures product.


CoinDesk reports what institutional interest pushedthe banking giant is engaged in trading bitcoin futures. In addition, the representatives of Citigroup mentioned the existing institutional interest in cryptocurrency trading and codial services.

It is common that Citi is actively recruiting people in London for a team specializing in cryptocurrency.

"At the beginning, the team, which is just about everything, will receive an approval to start trading in CME bitcoin futures, then - in exchange index bonds (ETN)."

In the foreseeable future, any trading in bitcoin futures will certainly be limited for institutional clients.
