Charles Hoskinson: “Nakamoto’s identity can be calculated using the stylometry of the source code”

Ethereum and IOHK co-founder Charles Hoskinson believes that by applying stylometry to the Bitcoin code, it is possible"Calculate" Satoshi Nakamoto.

According to Hoskinson, the most effective waygo to Nakamoto or the Bitcoin development team - use the stylometry technique, which is used for linguistic analysis of written text and is characterized by high accuracy of recognition of the author. Previously, this technique was applied to Satoshi's articles and letters, but not to the program code. These studies did not give a practical result.

Hoskinson suggested that stylometry can also be applied to program code written by Nakamoto. This code will serve as a kind of "key" that will help unravel the identity of the creator of Bitcoin.

IOHK CEO believes even scriptedBitcoin's language can tell a lot about its originator. It immediately catches the eye that it was written in the rare academic language Forth, which was used in the field of pedagogy on computers and systems in England and the eastern part of the USA in the 1980s and early 90s. Therefore, Hoskinson suggested that Nakamoto was educated at that time, which means he is now about 50-60 years old.

At the same time, the head of IOHK added that he did not apply the stylometry technique to the Bitcoin code and was not interested in revealing the identity of Nakamoto.

“Satoshi Nakamoto left the ecosystem back in 2012year and did not want it to be revealed. Bitcoin has been functioning perfectly since then and there have been no problems. Why do we need to bring back its creator? Let this mystery remain unsolved,” — said Charles Hoskinson.

Source code stylometry is already used, quite effectively, to find the authors of malware.
