Charles Hoskinson: Buterin hinders the development of the Ethereum network

Recently, Ethereum (ETH) and Cardano (ADA) co-founder Charles Hoskinson gave an interview in which he criticized the pacedevelopment of the Ethereum blockchain.

Hoskinson believes that the main reason for the slow development of the project is a strong dependence on the personal decisions of Vitalik Buterin.

Ethereum moves at the speed of Vitalik. He is extremely competent in some things and in these areas the project is a leader. However, research and bringing the product to market – These are things that require experience.

Hoskinson emphasized that Ethereum is Vitalik's first project:

He had never done anything like this before. This is his first company, his first project. He was never a researcher or CEO.

In addition, the founder of Cardano said the project’s roadmaps are overly optimistic, leading to unrealistic expectations:

The Ethereum community does not understand that suchprocesses such as decentralization of the network, creating a new economic model, achieving scalability, can take 5, 10, 20 years. They believe that somehow everything will be decided by itself within a few months.

It is worth noting that recently Vitalik publishedAn infographic roadmap for migrating from Ethereum 1.0 to Ethereum 2.0, revealing an action plan that can take up to 10 years. Although Hoskinson respects Buterin and considers him a “good guy”, he also considers him one of his main competitors:

I think Ethereum will be in the market for a long time. And I still think that the project will constitute a strong competition for us.

Let us remind you that Prysmatic Labs recently announced the launch of the Topaz test network, which will run on the full Ethereum 2.0 configuration.
