Changpeng Zhao: "Kevin O'Leary is a liar"

The CEO of the world's largest crypto exchange responded to criticism from the Shark Tank host in Congress, calling the host a liar who makes irresponsible statements.

Changpeng Zhao's statement comes as Shark Tank host Kevin O'Leary has been drawing public attention to Binance in recent days. 

After the collapse of FTX O’Leary, FTX investorGroup and its representative at the Senate Banking Committee hearing, said that Binance was to blame for the collapse of FTX. O'Leary told senators that Binance destroyed FTX's business, forcing the rival exchange to spend about $3 billion to buy back its own shares and thereby triggering the collapse of the trading platform.

The Binance CEO explained that he found it difficult to believe that O'Leary, an experienced investor, invested in FTX without due diligence and did not know that Binance owned a stake in FTX.

“Kevin O'Leary makes a bunch of irresponsible statements. They make no sense and have no logic. So I think Kevin is a liar and he lies about a bunch of other things."

While all of Kevin O'Leary's funds on FTX appear to be gone, Zhao said he is not concerned about his or other FTX users' funds.

Recently, the Shark Tank host said that the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX last year paid him $15 million to become its representative, but the funds completely disappeared.
