The largest food companies Carrefour and Nestlé said they use the IBM Food Trust blockchain platform to tracking baby food supply chain.
The platform will allow customers to receiveinformation about the origin of the ingredients, as well as where the product was manufactured and packaged. By scanning the QR code on the product packaging using a smartphone, customers can track the entire supply chain, which will increase the level of customer confidence.
As companies say, implementing transparentThe blockchain system indicates that the production of organic products adheres to the most stringent quality standards, which is especially important for baby food.
In July, Nestlé began testing its ownblockchain systems for tracking supply chains, and in June, the Carrefour retail chain announced that the introduction of the blockchain helped increase sales.
