Cardano prepares for fork Ouroborous BFT

The Cardano network ended 2019 with the launch of the Shelley test network, and plans to start 2020 with the introduction of the Ouroborous BFT update.

According to Charles Hoskinson, co-founder and CEO of IOHK, the update could be released as early as mid-February.

On January 17, Hoskinson said live that he was confident that the OBFT consensus protocol would be implemented very soon:

It seems that in February, with a fairly high degree of probability, we will conduct an OBFT hard fork.At the moment, we are discussing the issue of fork support with partner exchanges, as well as carrying out the last preparatory work.

Hoskinson also said that Daedalus, a secure multi-platform wallet for the Ada cryptocurrency, is almost ready to integrate with Ledger's hardware wallets.

In addition, the Cardano ecosystem has already begun developing Shelley-Hydra, a next-generation protocol, and is preparing to launch the Shelley Haskell testnet.
