The Cardano development team will implement a system that will allow smart contracts written in the Solidity programming language to run on the cryptocurrency network.
Within a compatible virtual machine KEthereum (KEVM) will implement a network system that will be able to recognize Solidity-based programs and automatically compile them into assembler (convert them into machine language). This will allow developers to define or implement the formal semantics of a programming language in an intuitive, modular way.
The new system alsowill be able to generate an executable file,converted for the Cardano virtual machine, from its formal specification, which will be fast and powerful enough to run real programs and smart contracts.
The innovation will enable Solidity developers to work in ecosystems of two platforms at the same time.
