Bloomberg: 10,000 Passwords of Robinhood users hit the Darknet

Cybercriminals have posted offers on the dark web to sell access to thousands of accounts, allegedlyassociated with the crypto-friendly Robinhood platform. Bloomberg reports.

Journalists claim that the darknet marketgot 10,000 passwords from platform accounts. Compared to stolen access to another major broker, TD Ameritrade, the Robinhood score is ten times higher.

According to the publication, hackers mainly operate one-mail hacking scheme: they request password recovery and intercept the notification. Robinhood said the stolen email is not enough to compromise the account.

In October, media reported that hackers had gained access to roughly 2,000 Robinhood accounts. The platform did not disclose the amount of damage and recommended that users enable two-factor authentication.
