Block.one Releases Version 2.0 of the EOSIO Protocol

According to the official press release published on October 8, Block.one announced the release of version 2.0EOSIO open source protocol.

EOSIO– this is a smart contract protocol,which is used to develop and host decentralized applications (DApps) on the blockchain. It uses a consensus model called delegated proof of stake.

According to Block.one's announcement, the core is EOSIO 2.0 contains various improvements to EOS VM – high-performance WebAssembly engine, which allows more efficient use of system resources when processing smart contracts.

Block.one claims that the EOS VM updates increase performance by 16 times compared to EOSIO 1.0, which significantly improves the efficiency of smart contracts. 

EOSIO 2.0 also includes a new web tool called the EOSIO Quickstart Web IDE, which aims to simplify system requirements for building EOS.io applications.
