BlackBerry has developed a crypto-jacking detection system for computers based on Intel processors

Smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry introduced a virus detection system for miner-based computers for computers Intel processors.

Solution "BlackBerry Optics v2.5.1100 ”is powered by the BlackBerry Optics Context Analysis Engine, which analyzes data from Intel's threat detection technology. Thanks to this, companies using the system are protected from malware. And the main attention is paid to miner viruses.

The developers emphasize that the operation of the system practically does not affect the processor and can be used for any computers with an Intel processor running Windows 10.

Vice President Research and Analytics atBlackBerry Cylance Josh Lemos (Josh Lemos) said that the illegal mining of cryptocurrencies, as well as extortion of a ransom for the data is becoming more and more “attractive” for various attackers:

“Thanks to our new detection andresponse to crypto jacking, we are going to leave this threat in the past. We provide enterprises with a turnkey solution that will prevent crypto jacking attempts and guarantee the intended use of equipment and software. ”

In late May, Red Canary announced a massive infection of corporate servers with a new miner virus created by the Blue Mockingbird group.
