Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has been licensed as a digital asset market service provider in Spain. A division of Moon Tech Spain has registered the Central Bank of the country.

The company can offer services throughout Spain in full compliance with AML and CTF regulations. The regulator will also monitor compliance with commercial and professional reputation standards.

Consideration of the application started on January 28.

Spain became the third jurisdiction in the EU after France and Italy, where Binance also received approval from local regulators.

In September 2021, the company's CEO Changpeng Zhao announced his abandonment of the "decentralized" business model.

Recall that in 2022, approval for the operation of the exchange was issued by the authorities of Bahrain, Dubai and the free financial zone of Abu Dhabi.

Binance also announced the launch of a regulated exchange in Thailand and announced the opening of a customer service center in Turkey.

Earlier, Zhao announced his intention to get approval from the British FCA.
