Binance hires ex-FATF executives as advisors

Binance has hired two former leaders of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to provide high-level advice on compliance and regulation.

Former FATF Executive Secretary RikuMcDonell and former head of the Canadian delegation to the FATF, Jose, have been tasked with strengthening the exchange's anti-money laundering (AML) and terrorist financing (CFT) activities.

This couple has extensive knowledge ofregulation and compliance, and experience with governments and international organizations such as the FATF, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Trade Organization (WTO), etc.

Binance CEO Zhangpeng Zhao said the pair's experience will be valuable to the exchange.

The recent appointment comes amid close interest in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) exchange for derivatives trading on the platform for US residents.
