Basketball fans will be able to track NBA collectibles using blockchain technology

Basketball fans will soon be able to purchase or exchange digital items National Basketball Association (NBA) collectibles on the blockchain.

The NBA, in partnership with the National Basketball Association and the creator of CryptoKitties, Dapper Labs, intends to launch a blockchain platform called NBA Top Shot.

New project scheduled to launchAutumn, will offer for sale digital collectibles, such as "3-D Shot of Kevin Durant" or "Joel Embidid Dunk." In addition to commerce, users will be able to track the results of the games of the new season, the beginning of which falls on 2020.

Note that Katie Tedman, department headmarketing at Dapper Labs, claims the new service will be much more extensive than CryptoKitties and is not going to be limited to “cat collecting”. The new platform will bring together sports, entertainment and television.
