AMD is preparing to introduce a newa GPU that will be dedicated to mining cryptocurrency, PC Gamer reports. According to the publication, the system based on Navi 10 and Navi 12 chips will be able to mine Ethereum. AMD Graphics Driver Update states that the new GPU will be released without VCN and DCN technologies, which will prevent it from streaming video to the display. This makes the graphics card useless for gamers and more efficient for computing.

The Navi 10 and Navi 12 chip lines have 2560stream processors together with 40 computing units. Navi 10 is powered by GDDR6 memory while Navi 12 is based on HBM2 memory. Their bandwidth is 448 GB / s and 394 GB / s, respectively.

Previously, NVIDIA announced the release of the linegraphics cards that can be used exclusively for Ethereum mining. These GPUs also lack the ability to display an image on the screen. Thus, the manufacturer decided to end the confrontation between miners and gamers.

NVIDIA will also halve the hashrate, whichwill develop new GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards designed for gamers. Due to the decrease in the hashrate of the GeForce RTX 3060 processor, NVIDIA expects that it will not arouse interest among miners.
