The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced a partnership with AlphaWallet, a mobile wallet based onEthereum for tokenizing tickets for the 2020 European Football Championship.
More than 20,000 will be issued on the Ethereum blockchaintickets, the issue of providing accommodation and transportation to those who purchased such “digital” tickets is also being resolved. In the blockchain, you can verify the authenticity of a ticket, as well as track its “history”. Ticket sales will take place in P2P format, and the system will ensure price stability, regardless of the period remaining before the Championship.
Tokenized tickets can be used withany Ethereum wallet compatible with TokenScript, however, the AlphaWallet wallet will enable digital ticket holders to use additional applications on the blockchain.
AlphaWallet CEO Victor Zhang(Victor Zhang) believes that an event of this magnitude is an excellent occasion to introduce blockchain in the sports industry, bringing together football fans and crypto enthusiasts. Victor Zhang explained that asset tokenization will be beneficial for all interested parties: event organizers, intermediaries, buyers, and even for the players themselves, who can also begin to “master” the sphere of the latest technologies.
Let us remind you that this is not the first time that UEFA has sold tickets,using blockchain. Last August, UEFA sold all tickets for the match between Spanish teams Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid through a mobile application on the blockchain.
