Alibaba introduces blockchain to track shipments on Koala import platform

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba announces new feature for Koala importers blockchain-based supply tracking.

According to the local Sina Finance,the integration of the Ant Financial blockchain on the Koala platform will allow customers to find out detailed logistic information about the purchased goods. To do this, you just need to scan the QR code using the Alipay application.

The Koala app itself has also been updated - nowafter placing the order, a button for tracking the goods will appear in it. When you click on it, a QR code is displayed and a certain “order fingerprint” used to combat counterfeiting.

Koala platform plans to expand applicationtechnologies - soon on the blockchain it will be possible to track goods sent by foreign mail services. This feature will be available to customers from 62 countries and regions. True, the logistic information of not all goods will get on the blockchain, but only 7,432 brands.

Note that the Koala platform was purchasedAlibaba at the end of last year for $ 2 billion. According to Alibaba, the use of the blockchain will help solve traditional logistics problems, such as tracking, mismatch of goods and order, as well as the difficulty of determining responsibility in the supply chain.
