An attempt by a Russian to make money on cryptocurrency turned into a loss of money due to an unverified choice broker.
A resident of Yakutsk was attracted by an advertisement of a brokerage company, which promised to increase investment capital through successful transactions for the purchase and sale of cryptocurrency.
The man left his mobile number on the site,a female consultant responded to the questionnaire and persuaded the man to invest in crypto assets through their brokerage company. The 31-year-old man entrusted the “brokers” with 3.1 million rubles, but never received the promised income. When he was approached by an "employee of the financial department" and offered to replenish the card, which allegedly lacked funds, the man realized that he had trusted the fraudsters.
The Russian went to the police. Law enforcers have already begun investigating the incident and are identifying the recipients of the transfers and the identity of the telephone "consultant".
