The number of cryptocurrency holders among institutional investors has increased significantly over the pasttime and will continue to grow in the future, expect inby Fidelity Digital Assets. According to the firm's survey, 70% of institutional investors intend to acquire digital assets in the foreseeable future, and 90% of them are ready to do so by 2026.

Fidelity Digital Assets President Tom Jessoplinks the positive changes in the perception of cryptocurrencies by institutional investors with the "growing advancement" among professional fund managers and the new strategies they use.

About 1,100 investors took part in the survey,including high-income individuals, family wealth management units, financial advisors, digital, traditional and trust funds, distributed roughly equally across the United States, Europe and Asia. More than half reported that they had cryptocurrency investments.

It also turned out that Asian investors are stillhave the greatest interest in cryptocurrencies, but colleagues from Europe and the United States are quickly catching up with them. Such investors are considering for themselves the possibility of both direct purchase of cryptocurrencies and ownership of shares in a crypto company, as well as other financial mechanisms. The survey was conducted from December 2020 to April 2021.

As the main factor preventingthe purchase of cryptocurrencies, the survey participants named the volatility of the exchange rate. They are also concerned about the risks of market manipulation and the lack of fundamental information to assess the fair value of digital assets.
