Iranian police have identified an illegal mining farm and seized 7,000 cryptocurrency mining devices.</p>

According to Tehran Police Chief Hossein Rahimi, the mining equipment was located in an abandoned factory in the western part of the country's capital.
Iran accounts for 4.5% of all bitcoin mining, according to Elliptic. Cryptocurrency allows a country to bypass sanctions and buy imported goods.
In May, the media reported on an alleged ban on the mining of digital assets in Iran until the end of the summer of 2021.
In January, the country's authorities closed 1,620 illegal mining centers, which together consumed 250 MW of power.</p></p>
