On June 8, Circle (the issuer of the USDC stablecoin) announced the appointment of the former Chairman of the Commerce CommissionCommodity Futures (CFTC) Heath Tarbert as Legal Director and Head of Corporate Affairs.
Tarbert joins senior management teamfirms on July 1, leaving the post of general counsel for market maker Citadel Securities, which controls about 40% of the total US retail trade and was valued at $22 billion at the beginning of last year.
The head of Citadel Securities, Kenneth Griffin, has become the richest person in the world of finance in 2022 according to Bloomberg.
