Alistair Milne, CIO of the Altana Digital Currency Fund, tweetedcompetition with a prize fund of 1 BTC.
Late last month, Milne announced a competition to crack the seed (an automatically generated twelve-word mnemonic phrase).
Every day he published a hint to the next word of the phrase, and the last three clues were supposed to be published immediately to exclude the use of the method of complete busting (brutforce) or decryption software. However, the phrase was deciphered and the wallet was hacked after the publication of the eighth clue.
In the comments, a user named Cheta stated that it was he who brought the bitcoin out of the wallet. It only took him 44 hours to generate the full initial phrase.Milne was impressed by the speed of deciphering the mnemonic phrase and surprised by the inflated commission of 0.01 BTC for the withdrawal of 1VTS from the hacked wallet.Apparently, the winner was afraid of competitors and put a high commission that would withdraw funds as soon as possible.
