Financial regulator of Malaysia: Binance has no permission to operate in the country

Malaysia's financial regulator (SC) has added Binance to its list of banned companies.

According to SC, Binance “is powered bymarket without permission." According to the statement:

We recommend that citizens do not invest with companies or individuals who are not SC licensed.

At the moment, it is unknown whether Binance can continue to operate in the Malaysian market or not. The exchange refused to give any comments on this matter.

Recall that earlier the financial regulator of Maltaissued a similar warning against Binance, indicating that the exchange has no right to operate on the island. It is noteworthy that prior to this announcement, it was widely believed in the community that the exchange was registered in Malta.

This month, the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission also banned Binance from providing derivatives trading services in the country.

At the moment, it is unknown where Binance is registered or whether it is registered in any jurisdiction at all.

During a recent Unchained podcast, exchange CEO Changpeng Zhao refused to answer questions regarding Binance's headquarters and location.
