Scientists have created an army of a million microrobots that can go through a medical needle

Engineers have described the technology for creating a million robots less than 0.1 mm in size from a 10-centimeter silicon wafer.

Tiny cars are so small that theirimpossible to see with the naked eye, but have a new class of photosensitive actuators, reminiscent of vestigial limbs, with which they can move. To control the movements of the robots, scientists at Cornell University pointed a laser at different sections of a tiny chain on their backs that operate analogs of pairs of legs.

They can work in anyenvironments, including conditions with extreme temperatures and acidity.

Micro robots can go through the thinnest needlefor subcutaneous injections, which allows them to be injected into the human body. Due to their dependence on an external energy source, current puppets are difficult to manipulate in tissues, so the researchers plan to significantly modernize them and program them to perform certain tasks, for example, attacking cancer cells.

However, according to the developers themselves, this can take years or even decades.

To enhance the functionality of tiny robots, scientists recently proposed a new design method that allows them to be reconfigured.
