Engineers have created a game console that works from keystrokes and light

The upgraded handheld game console can only run on kinetic and solar power indefinitely without a battery.

While the companies are re-releasing their iconic games, researchers at Northwestern University have decided to improve the design of one of the first handheld Nintendo Game Boy devices.

The updated console looks almost the same as the original, except for a set of small solar panels on the front. In addition, the scientists connected the buttons to capacitors capable of not onlyto accumulate but also generate electricity from the user. The combination of these two additional systems is quite enough for stable operation of the device without additional power sources.

According to the developers, you can run any old-school game on such a console without worrying about replacing batteries or charging the battery.Although this invention may seem like a nightmare for parents, the researchers had only scientific goals in mind when creating it.The team argues that such devices are not only more efficient, but can also become the basis for the development of gadgets for space travel.

Engineers create devices that convert the surrounding energy for more practical purposes as well. For example, last year Peugeot developed a billboard that generates electricity fromambient noise.
