The British military will conduct aerodynamic tests of the sixth generation fighter with laser weapons

The British defense company BAE Systems has announced that it is conducting wind tunnel testing of a Tempest stealth jet with a variety of advanced weapon systems.

The sixth-generation twin-engine fighter will be able to carry hypersonic missiles and laser weapons powered byIn addition to improved stealth technology and super maneuverability, it will beequipped with a reconfigurable AI system and advanced cyber communications that allow it tocontrol swarms of drones no worse than a flight control center.

As the Tempest is in the early stages of development, BAE Systems will be able to conduct aerodynamic tests during the next aerodynamic testUse a 3D printed model of the aircraft and digital simulations.

Production of the first fully functionalThe sixth generation fighters are due to start in 2035 to replace the current F-35 Lightning II and Typhoon fleets, which will be retired in the 2040s. Rolls-Royce, Leonardo and MBDA are also involved in the development of the aircraft.

Earlier in August, the US Air Force also unveiled a prototype of the new B-21 stealth bomber.
