KuCoin exchange suspects $ 280 million theft

After the $280 million hack of the KuCoin exchange on Friday, the company threw all its efforts into tracking funds anddifficulty in translations. Now the exchange will declare that it has found the robber and has "substantial evidence."

The CEO of the Singapore exchange, Johnny Liu, tweeted that law enforcement officials officially involved in the investigation are ready to take action to arrest the suspects.

He noted that most of the cryptocurrencies affected during the incident were DeFi and ERC-20 tokens. The hackers would then withdraw these tokens using the Uniswap platform.

Tether, Bitfinex, Ocean Protocol, VIDT_Datalink and Akropolis have taken a number of measures to prevent hackers from using or transferring funds, including blocking more than 33 million USDT.

Thanks to a prompt response, the exchange managed to recover the stolen tokens worth another $ 64 million.

After the incident, the exchange had to stop working. However, now deposits and withdrawals have been resumed.
