According to the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance (CCAF), the United States pushed China away from position of the leader in bitcoin hashrate.
According to CCAF estimates, the USA accounts for 35.4% of the total hash rate - 42.7 EH / s. In the third quarter, the total market share of American miners doubled - last quarter they accounted for 17% of the hash rate.
However, the United States was not alone in benefiting from China's repression. The hashrate of mining farms in Kazakhstan also doubled in the third quarter. Now it reaches 22 EH / s or 18.1% of the total bitcoin hash rate. Miners who were forced to move from China most often moved their capacities to Kazakhstan.
Russia and Canada are now ranked third and fourth in the world with 11.2% and 9.6%, respectively.
CCAF analysts relied on information provided by four pools: BTC.com, Poolin, ViaBTC, and Foundry USA. The total hash rate of these pools is 62 EH / s, or 44% of the total bitcoin hash rate.
