European law enforcementclosed a video service with pirated content, which received millions of euros over several years of operation through PayPal payments, bank transfers and cryptocurrencies, Bloomberg reports.
The platform provided access to over 40,000 pirated videos. For five years of work, it has attracted 15 million euros.
During searches of the service team,Europol seized property, luxury cars and jewelry, cash and cryptocurrencies totaling around 4.8 million euros. Another 1.1 million euros are frozen in accounts with various banks.
Recall that Europol experts are convinced that bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency among cybercriminals.
